It was more than just a practice in aesthetics. It is a place for spiritual renewal and purification of the body and soul. The main problem is an architecture that is closely related to nature, produced, and placed in relation to the surrounding forest-like landscape. Any architecture must have a strong connection to the outdoors and the changing seasons.
The young widow's physical and spiritual well-being were priorities when the Elves Home with the dark indoor pool was constructed. The project aims to produce something potent but understated. a delicate location that gives serenity and diverse viewpoints of the surrounding wildlife throughout the year.
It's all about the various ways that light can be paired with its opposite, the shadow. Vertical apertures to the south allow direct sunshine into the depth of the space, while large glass doors to the west and east terraces link to the garden. The glossy painted ceilings and the bronze-plastered fireplace reflect the greenlight that is filtered by the huge trees. The inner grass wallpaper-covered walls and the dark-toned oak floor absorb the shadow play.
